Christ Chapel
Christ Chapel was dedicated on May 14, 1967 and has been at the center of life at the seminary ever since.
Christ Chapel embodies the ecumenical spirit of Southern Seminary, using books of worship from the ELCA, Roman Catholic, United Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Taize, and more. Worship is enhanced by the beautiful Fisher Organ, a 34 rank, 3 manual traker, Flentrop organ. Other features of the chapel include a 8'x10' hand-carved teakwood altar cross, hand-hammered Sweedish metalwork, as well as beautiful stained glass and stone works. With such a beautiful setting, the chapel is often used for special occasions like weddings, baptisms, and ordinations.
Chapel Services are held daily when the seminary is in session:
- Daily Worship on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00am
- Eucharist at 6:00pm on Thursday.
Please join the students, faculty, staff, and families for any of our chapel services.
