Steps for CPE
- Go on-line to www.acpe.edu, and click on directory to get a list of the sites in the country to help you in making your decision about where you want to do your unit of CPE. We also have brochures from some of the sites.
- When you receive the report of your interview, you need to bring a copy to the Contextual Education Office. These reports should come within 14 days of your interview. If they do not come by the end of 3 weeks, please let me know so I can get in touch with supervisors to remind them that you need those reports.
- Once you receive your report (which is really a CPE admission evaluation), you may begin applying to the CPE sites of your choice. You will need to send a copy of your application, autobiography, interview report, and the application fee (if one is required).
- Most sites will not inform their candidates if they have been accepted for the summer unit until February or March. However, you should apply as soon as possible.
- If you are applying to several sites, but have a site that is your first choice, you may want to contact that site to ask when they will be announcing their selections. You may tell them that you have also applied to other sites but that they are your first choice.
- Let the Contextual Education Office know where you have applied. When you have been accepted, notify us in which site you will be doing your CPE. There are some limited funds available and verification of your acceptance may be needed for the registrar as well as have that information for your records.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Contextual Education Offices if you have any questions or concerns about CPE.
