The Rev. Dr. Mary B. Havens
H. George Anderson Professor of Church History
Dr. Havens, a native of Nebraska, received her undergraduate degree from Midland Lutheran College, M.Div. from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and earned her Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Dr. Havens has been at Southern Seminary since 1985. She currently serves as the Interim Pastor at Pomaria Lutheran Church in Pomaria, SC. Her academic interests include Lutheran Pietism, Lutheran history, spirituality, and Kierkegaard. Dr. Havens is the 2000 recipient of Southern Seminary's Herman W. and Elizabeth P. Cauble Faculty Distinguished Service Award.
