Why Give?

The Case for Supporting Southern Seminary.

The church needs an increasing supply of highly qualified rostered servant leaders to serve an increasingly complex membership.  Today’s public minister must be able to relate to people of varying cultural and ethnic backgrounds in an environment where the practice of one’s faith competes with the world’s offerings.  A large body of rostered leaders who led the church through the last four decades is retiring, leaving empty pulpits across America.

Southern Seminary is addressing the current and looming shortage of public ministers by preparing men and women for a life of service to the church.  We do this through rigorous theological education in a learning community setting and consistent application of classroom learning in field parish settings.  Southern Seminary graduates arrive in the parish ready to serve from the first day of call.
