The Real Cost
When average support is subtracted, a typical seminary student is faced with uncovered costs of around $30,000 per year. Many of our students work part-time when jobs are available, but most still need to borrow money in order to answer God's call with, "Here I am, Lord, send me." During school year 2006 – 2007, the average graduating senior with debt had more than $40,000 of student loans, significantly more than the starting salary for a first call public minister.
