The New Life (operational support) Fund: The New Life Fund touches every area of providing a high-quality theological education from library books and classrooms to faculty salaries, utilities, and campus maintenance. If money is required to make it happen, the New Life Fund is there to provide funds.
Supported primarily by individual donors and congregations, the New Life Fund is critical for the day-to-day operational support theological education requires.

Student Aid: Scholarships and student assistance grants are the foundation of student aid. The average amount of aid is $3,484 against annual costs of around $33,000 to $34,000. Part-time employment and student loans make up the difference, and the average seminary graduate is burdened with around $40,000 of student loans. Contact us about establishing a student scholarship.
The Seminary Endowment: The seminary endowment includes endowed scholarships, endowed faculty chairs, endowments restricted for specific purposes like pastoral support, and unrestricted endowment funds. Endowment income draws are used to balance the seminary's operating budget by bridging the gap between individual, congregational, synodical, and churchwide contributions and budgeted expenses. Total endowed funds as of December 31, 2007 were $25 million. In current dollars, an endowment of $50 million is needed to support the long-term vision of Southern Seminary.
