J. Brent Walker Lecture and Panel Discussion

The LTSS Baptist Studies Program and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of SC invite the public to Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC to a lecture and discussion on Thursday, October 30 from 1:00 - 3:00 in Stavros auditorium.
J. Brent Walker, Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty (Washington, DC) will be on campus to address the topic: "The Use and Abuse of Religion in Politics: A Baptist Perspective." Separation of church and state (religious freedom) has been a foundational issue for Baptists and will create a timely and enlivening conversation for the week before elections.
Copies of Walker's newest book, Church-State Matters: Fighting for Religious Liberty in Our Nation's Capital (Mercer Press, 2009) will be available for purchase and autograph.
