Bishop's School
Date: June 20, 2009
Thirty high-school youth will stay on the seminary campus to study and discuss basic theological tenets as well as participate in a multicultural immersion experience in the Latino community in Columbia. Through their resident experience from June 20-27, 2009, these 11th and 12th grade students can better understand their Christian faith, theology and doctrine, biblical understanding, church history and heritage, institutional structures, and new cultures. Courses are led by seminary faculty and staff, Lutheran clergy, rostered leaders, Region 9 of the ELCA staff, and seminarians, as well as this year's Bishop in Residence, the Rev. Dr. James Mauney, Bishop of the Virginia Synod.
Participants must be nominated by a parish pastor or rostered lay leader in his/her home congregation. Download the brochure/nomination form.
