Dr. Robert D. Hawkins
Professor of Worship and Music
A substantial
portion of the seminary curriculum is devoted to liturgical leadership training
which incorporates both the pragmatic component of learning and practicing leadership
skills in chapel and in parish settings, and the necessary study and reflection
on the biblical, theological and pastoral dimensions of worship.
Seminarians learn to integrate ‘hearts, hands and voices’ bringing critical, academic
reflection to bear upon all that is done, as St. Paul intended by the ‘head and
heart’ working together, led by the Spirit.
