Drum Circle Event

February 25, 2012

I would like to invite everyone to participate to Living in Rhythm: A Drum Circle Event on Saturday Feb. 25th 2:30-4:30pm in Rienartz Hall. It is a family affair so please bring kids.

The first part of the event will be a percussion workshop learning about all the instruments and brief instruction on how to play them. We will also be talking about how to incorporate Drum Circles into a congregational setting and how they can help with group dynamics and the spiritual journey. The second part of the event will be a Drum Circle. Everyone has Rhythm so don't be shy about playing.

Help is needed for the event. I would like 2 or 3 volunteers to help coordinate things on the day of the event.

And most importantly I have about 8 instruments of my own to use at the event however in order for more people to participate, I need your help in finding churches or schools to borrow some percussive instruments. These can include Bongos, Congas, cowbells, woodblocks, shakers, Triangles, etc.  If you have questions or want to help please contact me (Mark Molter) You can either bring them to the event or I will arrange for them to be picked up and returned. When bringing instruments please include tags to identify who they belong to. (something like a luggage tag is great) I will have more information and Posters around campus too.
