Seminary Faculty Member to Teach in Africa

The Rev. Dr. Brian Peterson, Professor of New Testament at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, will be a guest professor at Iringa University College in Iringa, Tanzania while on sabbatical during the 2008 fall semester.
Dr. Peterson will teach Greek and New Testament Theology as part of the Global Sabbatical Award Program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The program sends teachers and professors to partner seminaries around the globe who have requested teaching assistance. He will teach in Tanzania from September through November, before returning to his duties at Southern Seminary in 2009.
Also while on sabbatical, Dr. Peterson is editing "Preaching the Gospel for the Life of the Church". The work is a collection of essays on preaching written by Southern Seminary faculty. The collection is planned to publish next spring by Augsburg Fortress.
