Seminary Campus Recognized with Columbia Choice Award

The campus of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary was recognized for enhancing the appearance and quality of life in Columbia, SC at the seventh annual Columbia Choice Awards on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, given by the group Columbia Green.
The seminary was presented the 2008 award in the category of Neighboorhood/Community. Specifically cited were the architecture and landscaping of the new Hillcrest Student Apartment complex, the landscaping and grounds of the whole campus, the preservation of trees, and the restorations of housing for better community appearance.
Columbia Green promotes beautification of the Columbia area through landscaping, gardening, horticulture, education and conservation. They aim to make Columbia more beautiful to enhance the quality of life for its citizens and visitors, and to support economic development. Awards are selected based on nominations by the public at large.
