The most valuable asset of any organization is the people who are a part of the organization. This axiom also holds true for Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. What I value most as a student, are the relationships that I have developed with the people of the seminary community.
As a student from an ecclesiastical tradition that differs greatly from Lutheranism, I was skeptical about how I would be received on campus. Fortunately, the reception I received from faculty, staff, and student body alike, caused me to affirm vehemently the creedal declaration, “I believe in the Holy Catholic Church, the community of the saints...” On this campus I have friends from all traditions, Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopalian, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Pentecostal. LTSS practices in contemporary society what Paul articulated in antiquity, “that we have diverse members but we are one body.” I believe there is no better place to experience the exhilaration of learning and living theology, than at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
